    This is the height of the truffle season, and Italy is host to a number of truffle fairs. The most important, the International Truffle Fair at Alba, in Piedmont, celebrates the incredibly aromatic white truffle. But truffles are found even near Rome, and almost year round.
  • Your central station to enjoy the best of Italy’s gastronomic tradition has finally landed in Miami at the Brickell City Centre! We had the chance to chat with Jacopo Giustiniani, the notable NYC restaurateur, who opened the premier food hall in collaboration with hospitality guru Matthias Kiehm. Giustiniani guided us through the new realm of Italian dining on the East Coast highlighting his personal concept of “hospitalian” - hospitality the Italian way.
  • This winter, Eataly NY and Chicago will be featuring a Tuscan theme throughout their stores in honor of the annual Carnival. The opening press conference in New York, held at the School of Eataly Flatiron, saw the participation from The Region of Tuscany that included Maria Lina Marcucci, President of the Foundation of the Carnival of Viareggio, and Alberto Peruzzini, Director General of Tuscan Tourism Promotion.

    Panzanella is the quintessential dish to throw together when you don't want to go to the store. The classic Tuscan salad calls for only a few simple ingredients: stale bread, misc. produce, and basic seasonings. Centuries ago in Toscana, when bread was baked only once a week, families would use leftover loaves by soaking the stale bread in olive oil and vinegar. The revitalized bread would be tossed with whatever fresh produce was available in the garden.
  • On Tuesday November 10th at Christie’s, Amedeo Modigliani’s Nu Couché was sold for a whopping $170.4 million dollars to a wealthy art collector in Shanghai, China over the phone. This price tag makes it the second most expensive piece of artwork to be sold at Christie’s ever in history.

    On Thursday, October 2, the Italian Culture Institute in New York introduces “The Macchiaioli,” an exhibit curated by Marco Bertoli. Twenty masterpieces coming from the private Italian collection to New York for the first time include: Giovanni Fattori, Silvestro Lega, Telemaco Signorini and other big influential avant-garde artists that are most important to the Italian paintings of the 1800s.
