    The traditional Orvieto wines produced by Le Velette winery were presented on July 12 at the Italian Trade Commission. Imported by AgriLand, an Italian-American import-export company that recently inaugurated its Bronx showroom, Le Velette wines have been produced in the surroundings of Orvieto by the Bottai family, running the winery for over 150 years. Umbria also has a lot to offer as a touristic destination, and oenogastronomic tours of the region are gaining popularity among the American customers.
  • With 30 participating firms Italy will be the most represented nation at Premiere Vision, the most important trade expo for textiles and accessories. The 25th edition of the fair will take place on July 11 and 12 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea. It will anticipate the collections that will be presented at the Milano Unica fair in Italy.
  • The Italian Trade Commission and the Italian Wine & Food Institute organized a day-long tasting of delicious whites, rosés and sparkling wines (Prosecco, Moscato and Brachetto) for the press and insiders of the wine business promoting light and crisp wines that will cool down any hot summer day.

  • Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Financial Affairs, Ali Babacan met the Italian and Italian-American business community in New York at a meeting organized by the Confederation of Italian Entrepreneurs Worldwide at the Italian Trade Commission. “Our relationship with Italy is excellent, we are friends and we are perfect strategic partners,” said Babacan.
  • The New York Wine Expo 2012 brought to the Javits Center over 3,000 New Yorkers who love wine, free tastings and fun.
