"Taranta Night" with Mauro Pagani

In conjunction with the festivities honoring Italian National Day, The Consulate General of Italy in New York informs the public that on May 31st at 4 pm there will be a show at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center of Staten Island featuring Mauro Pagani in “La Notte della Taranta” .
Mauro Pagani directs the Festiva "Notte della Taranta" since 2007. The event is held every summer for the last eleven years in Melpignano, in Salento. It unites internationally renowned artists who represent the pizzica scene, the traditional music of the area. Every year many special projects are hosted thanks to the numerous collaborations between the artists from the Salento who are dedicated to the promulgation of the tradition and to the musicians from other geographic and cultural areas.
