Moïse et Pharaon
The Collegiate Chorale presents Moïse et Pharaon, by Gioacchino Rossini, to celebrate their 70th Anniversary Season , November 30, 2011 at 8:00 PM at Carnegie Hall.
Rossini's Moïse et Pharaon tells the biblical story of Moses and his brother Eliezer as they lead the Jews out of the land of Pharaoh and into freedom, with the help of plagues and the parting of the Red Sea.
Conductor James Bagwell leads a stellar cast: The Collegiate Chorale with guest artists James Morris (Moses) Kyle Ketelsen (Pharaoh) , Angela Meade, Eric Cutler, Marina Rebeka and the American Symphony Orchestra.
The performance is a unique French- language version written by the composer.
