 Introducing Joanna Clapps Herman's latest publication The Anarchist Bastard: Growing up Italian in America and Dr. Joseph Sciorra's book Italian Folk: Vernacular Culture in Italian-American Lives

Poetry, kitchens, yard shrines, backyard gardens, dialects, storytelling, building nativity scenes and Christmas Decorations:  Joseph Sciorra and Joanna Clapps Herman, both Italian American writers, will talk about vernacular culture and the ways in which we use our customs, our language, our daily habits to stay in touch with our heritage and more importantly to keep it alive and growing.
