92nd Street & Lexington Avenue
Lexington Avenue & East 92nd Street
10128 New York, NY
United States

This course examines key texts in the first Cantica of the Divine Comedy, which presents the heaven-bound human soul of its author as it faces the horror and temptation of sin. The approach is more concerned with art than with theology the focus is on a detailed examination of the text. The Princeton University Dante Project will be available as a resource. Robert Hollander, an emeritus professor of European literature at Princeton University, has written many books and articles about Dante and directs both the Dartmouth University and the Princeton Dante projects
