BRUNO VESPA

In his latest work, with earnestness and immediacy, the author tells of one the toughest political electoral campaigns in Italian history. He talks about the appointment of the major political leaders of the Italian Republic, the first controversial government’s term. Vespa interviews the major political and institutional leaders collecting their opinions and worries about the socio-political situation of the country. Of great relevance is the interview with the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano, who talks about his efforts to keep the country united in the middle of bitter political dissent. Vespa pictures a country deeply divided into two opposite fronts torn by constant political tension. Born in L’Aquila in 1944, Bruno Vespa started as a radio-journalist for RAI, and eventually became television journalist in 1968. In 1977 he hosted the famous show "Tam Tam" in collaboration with Arrigo Petacco. In 1978 he received the Saint-Vincent award from President Sandro Pertini. Former director of tg1, since 1996 he has written and anchored the television show "Porta a Porta."
