Baroque Garden of Roses

The Chamber Orchestra of New York presents the concert Baroque Garden of Roses, Saturday December 3, 2011 at 8 pm at Church of St. Jean Baptist (Lexington Avenue 76th Street).
The performance will be enhanced by two U.S. premieres: a rediscovered Baroque Oratorio by Alessandro Scarlatti, Il Giardino di Rose performed by Kyler Brown, The Virgin Consort together with Chamber Orchestra and Maestro Di Vittorio and Ottorino Respighi's rediscovered Suite for Organ and strings by Mr. Brown.
Kyler Brown is the featured soloist in Respighi's Organ Suite. Recognized as both a conductor and organist, Kyler Brown is currently the Director of Music Ministries and Organist at the Church of Saint Jean Baptiste, Adjunct Organist at Columbia University, and Founder and Director of the internationally acclaimed Virgin Consort. The Consort, founded in 1989, is an a cappella eight-member ensemble of professional singers. They are also based at Church of St. Jean Baptiste.
The program also includes two English gems: Holst's energetic St. Paul Suite and Elgar's sentimental Sospiri.
