Argento: Cinema in the Blood
In recognition of the Dario Argento family’s contributions to world cinema, the Museum of Arts and Design celebrates their four decades of achievement with Argento: Cinema in the Blood, a two-month retrospective of screenings, running from March 23 through May 25, 2012.The retrospective will show a range of the Argentos’ giallo motion pictures—some classic, some rare, and many in 35mm prints- and will present a range of titles created over three generations of directors, producers, writers and actors. Throughout this production, the hallmark of the Argento name has been linked to innovative cinematic techniques and approaches. The schedule includes: “Kiss the Girls and Make Them Die” by Salvatore Argento; “The Animal Trilogy”, “The Three Mothers Trilogy”, “Deep red”, “Opera”, “Tenebrae”, “Phenomena”, “Trauma” by Dario Argento; “Scarlet Diva”, “New Rose Hotel”,“The Last Mistress”, “On war” with Asia Argento.
