Opera Speaks Italian at Met

A surprising new feature is offered by the the Met at the end of September. The “debut” of Italian subtitles will be held at the performance of the “ L'Elisir d'Amore” by G.Donizetti. The initiative is promoted by the Consulate General of Italy in New York


The 24th of September is an important date for Italian Opera in New York City. The Metropolitan Opera will provide Italian subtitles on the screens of each of the seats for all the Italian opera performances.  To the content of all lovers of Italian Opera, fans will now be able to better follow the original text and at the same time appreciate more the melodic nuances of the original language.
