“Origin of Life in the Universe. An Encounter of Astronomy and Biology” ” is the first out of three lectures on hot science issues by Vittorio Canuto (former senior scientist at NASA, now Professor at Columbia University). He will converse with Cristiano Galbiati (Professor of Physics at Princeton University).In this first lecture, Vittorio Canuto will present a general panorama of how the universe evolved after the Big Bang some 14 billion years ago, how galaxies and then stars came into being and how life evolved in the primitive planet Earth.

Noted Italian writer and journalist Alain Elkann will talk about the contribution to the Italian literature of the twentieth century given by prominent writers of Jewish descent, such as Umberto Saba, Carlo Levi, Giorgio Bassani, Primo Levi, Alberto Moravia, Natalia Ginzburg, Elsa Morante, Franco Fortini.Alain Elkann (born in New York 1950) graduated in Law from the University of Geneva.
