The Italian Heritage and Culture Committee of New York, Inc. celebrates its 34th annual Italian Heritage and Culture Month this October with the theme: “A Tribute to Dr. Maria Montessori: An Internationally Renowned Educator and Physician.”
Maria Montessori was a pioneer in education, though it would be reductive to define her only as an educator, because she was also a philosopher, a physician, a humanitarian, and more! Her biography clearly shows that she was an extraordinary woman who made a personal revolution in a society where there was no space for women, especially one with such radical beliefs.
