Support i-Italy
Help us keep the dream going!
As a subscriber to our newsletter, you know that a multimedia network like i-Italy needs writers, editors, graphic designers, filmmakers, producers, and has substantial fixed costs for logistics, printing, leasing TV time, renting equipment for special projects....
All this is necessary to produce quality content for the web, print and television as we aim to do. C]So, consider us for your donations this #GivingTuesday. Be part of our future by becoming a “Friend of i-Italy” and making a tax-deductible donation to support our work.
i-Italy was founded in New York in 2008 with the stated mission of bringing together three similar yet historically isolated groups of Italophiles: Italians living in the United States, Americans of Italian heritage, and all Americans who love Italy. Our plan was ambitious; we wanted to tell the story of Italian life in America by producing quality content for television, print, and web media and sending a powerful message that would spark lively discussions and debates (most importantly in the English language).
Since then, with few resources and lots of enthusiasm, we’ve achieved miraculous results. Our website now has over a million hits and, between Facebook and other social media, we have almost 200,000 followers. Moreover, our print magazine is in its third year of production, as is our television program, which airs weekly on NYCTV, the Public Broadcasting Station of the City of New York. We have established a major presence in the City as well as nationally through our vast online social network.
So maybe our idea wasn’t so crazy after all. We could do it. We are doing it. Yet today we have reached a point where we need to consolidate and expand our operation.
We Are Twice Free
Unlike most other media outlets, i-Italy is twice free. Not only do we deliver our content for free-on our website as well as with our magazine and by broadcasting our TV show on PBS-but we are completely free from the editorial influence of commercial publishers.
That’s Why We Need You
To remain free and continue to produce quality content, we rely on the appreciation of fans like you who lend their support through sponsorships and donations. In other words, you are the ones who can help us keep the dream going!
