A photography and video exhibition by Silvio Wolf, curated by Laura Barreca and Olivia D’Aponte, in cooperation with Robert Mann Gallery, New York, and the Italian Cultural Institute of New York. On view through April 7, 2006.

Author Emilia Sarogni is joined by respondents Jo Ann Cavallo, Luigi Fontanella, and Irene Marchegiani for the presentation of her books Salvatore Morelli - l'Italia e la Donna (Daniela Piazza Editore 2004) and La donna italiana - 1861-2000. Il lungo cammino verso i diritti (Il Saggiatore 2004).

The conference will address the connections between the production and consumption of fashion and dress. Scholars from a wide range of disciplines, including anthropology, sociology, economics, history, art, and literary studies, as well as industry practitioners and journalists will explore clothing history in both local and global contexts with a particular focus on New York, Italy, London, China and Russia.

Embracing a multicultural flavor and an exquisite balance between Sumiko Tajihi’s lyricism and Marco Schiavo’s dynamism, Duo Leonore bridges different cultural backgrounds with musical sensitivity and sharp brilliance.
