The Italian American Writers Association (IAWA) celebrates its 18th Anniversary with two extraordinarily gifted writers, one of whom is also a Dante scholar and a distinguished translator, Angelo Verga, who will share the stage with Michael Palma, a scholar, editor and poet. Additionally, in honor of National Poetry Month, participants at the Open Mic are requested to read at least one piece written by an Italian American author they have been influenced by.

Her works are historical fiction with a focus on Sicilian immigration and culture. Sicilian Seduction is part of her first trilogy, but is the last one to be published.
The others novels are:Sicilian Tales, The Matriarch,The Diva, and The Patriarch. The Matriarch Conclusion and Sicilian Love Story.

In 1988, Italian surgeon Luigi Strada founded the humanitarian organization, Emergency, to help civilian victims of war. Today the organization operates in 13 war-torn countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Cambodia, and Rwanda. Dr. Chiara Megighian Zenati will talk about the assistance that has been given to more than 2,750,000 people all over the world.
