In celebration of Italian Heritage and Culture Month, the American Labor Museum offers special tours of the Botto House. This National Landmark highlights the domestic life of the Botto family, Italian immigrant silk mill workers and unionists who settled in Haledon, New Jersey in 1908. Their home became the meeting place for over 20,000 striking mill workers during the 1913 Paterson Silk Strike.

This month-long exhibit features the extraordinary works of artist “Gabe” Perillo who was the feature sports artist for “Ring Magazine.”

This exhibition will feature notable Italian Americans in law enforcement. Among those
showcased will be Giuseppe Petrosino, Frank Serpico, as well as Judge John Sprizzo. Original documents, photographs, service weapons, and other artifacts will be displayed. Sponsored by the Italian American Museum.

Marco Bellocchio was born in Bobbio, in Emilia-Romagna, on November 9, 1939. His passion for cinema and his rebellious character developed in his early years and in 1959 he began studying at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. After a brief period in London he returned to his hometown where he directed his first full-length movie, I pugni in tasca [Fists in the Pocket] at the age of 26.

Many wonderful artists from both Italy and USA will participate in this event as performers and representatives of Italian jazz summer events. This event is co-produced by two institutions: the Italian Cultural Institute and Jazz at Lincoln Center. There will be 9 concerts in 2 different locations: Italian Cultural Institute and Dizzy's Coca Cola.
