Conversation with author Erri De Luca

Erri De Luca, born in Naples (Italy), May 20th, 1950, is a writer at-large: novelist, story-teller, essayist, translator and poet. He has published more than 60 books - many of them best-sellers, widely praised by critics - and numerous collections of short stories and poems. After years of living "all over the world", De Luca ha settled in the countryside of Rome. He is considered by many literary experts "a master of the Italian language of the past two decades."

in The Sixth Day of the 'Decameron': The Triumph of the Word

Using a plastic camera from the 1960s, Amy Bedik photographs sculpture and landscape, creating images of startling intensity and sophistication. In Figure and Ground, she exhibits work made in Italy, Turkey, and New York.

Bedik has shown at the Photographer's Gallery, London; Ufficio dell'Arte, Paris; and the Daniel Wolf Gallery in New York. Her work is in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. She lives in New York City.

The exhibition continues through November 23.
