  • Images regarding arts, science, architecture, and other Italian excellencies were presented at the Calandra Institute to celebrate the Italian Heritage. Joseph Sciame opened the event introducing John De Santis, who created them, and Consul General Natalia Quintavalle.
  • On May 11, IHCC-NY celebrated the annual Mother’s Day ceremony at the Mother Italy Statue at Hunter College and received the moral responsibility of the statue from Justice Dominic Massaro. The ceremony was also the occasion to honor Consul General of Italy to New York Natalia Quintavalle for her role in the Italian-American community and as a proud Italian mother.
  • Amerigo Vespucci's voyage to America has been commemorated at St. John's University in a special event organized, among the others, by the Delegates of the Fiorentini nel Mondo, the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, the John D. Calandra Italian/American Institute and the Italian Consulate of Italy in New York
