"Meet the Archives" Reframing Italian America: Historical Photographs and Immigrant Representations

Calandra Italian American Institute
25 W 43rd St, New York, NY 10036, USA
10036 New York, NY
United States

The Calandra Institute's current exhibition Reframing Italian America brings to light 23 photographs from the Bernard Titowsky collection, images and artifacts of extraordinary value to the ongoing story of Italians in the United States. The collection is comprised of over 200 pieces; what about the numerous undisplayed items? Join us for this behind-the-scenes peek at the collection and get a close-up look at oversized artifacts like mounted photograph displays of California wineries, bound photo albums from now defunct macaroni factories, maps tracking Italians in New York City, and other never-before-seen holdings. This special event will be held in the gallery and, due to space limitations and the fragile nature of the photographs, is open to the first 12 people to RSVP by calling 212-642-2094.
