Performance: The Sau-Wing Lam Collection In Action - Salome Chamber Orchestra

MET - The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium
1000 5th Avenue
10024 New York, NY
United States

Salomé Chamber Orchestra and guest artists play the rare violins and violas of the acclaimed Sau-Wing Lam Collection.

The Sau-Wing Lam Collection of Rare Italian Stringed Instruments exhibition, on view through June 30, 2013, is one of the finest collections of violins and violas currently in private hands. The exhibit features ancient stringed instruments, most of them belonging to the Classical Violinmaking School of Cremona.

For this performance series, a selection of instruments from the collection will be played by New York's dynamic young Salomé Chamber Orchestra and guest artists. The Eight Seasons violinist and Salomé co-founder Sean Avram Carpenter and violist David Aaron Carpenter are the soloists in Astor Piazzolla's Four Seasons and Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
