Do the deaf feel art as we do and how does one translate the language of art into the language of the deaf?

The Museum of Contemporary Art Castello di Rivoli and the Institute of the Deaf of Turin have produced a unique initiative: the first ever Dictionary of Contemporary Art in Italian Sign Language.

The Dictionary, which is bilingual in Italian and English, will make contemporary art vocabulary methods accessible to the deaf internationally.
A group of deaf people and a group of specialists have worked together to introduce 80 new signs to describe contemporary art.  This brand-new Dictionary is an important contribution to inclusiveness, cultural integration, and better awareness of contemporary art.
