BETWEEN THE SEAS FESTIVAL

Between the seas is pleased to announce the performance schedule of its inaugurate edition that will run at the wild Project (195 East 3th str) from August 29th September 4th 2011. With the goal to encourage artistic exchange and promote understanding of contemporary Mediterranean culture and identity, the first Between the Seas Festival will showcase emerging and established artists and scholars from Mediterranean and Mediterranean diaspora in the fields of dance, theater and music, along with lectures panels and educational programs.Highlights:
-On September 1st at 1pm Dr. Fabio Parasecoli (Food StudiesCoordinator at the New School) will be giving a keynot-On September 4th at 8pm we have a special closing night celebrationfeaturing Jazz Mediterraneo, a band featuring world class musicians from Greece, Italy and USA performing jazz arrangements of Greek songs, Nino Rota, old Neapolitan tunes and more.e lecture on Mediterranean diet, its hist ory and politics
-NUR by Balletto Teatro di Sardegna, Wednesday 9/31 at 9 pm and Friday 9/2 at 7 pm-Trantella Cabaret by Marisa Buffone, Saturday 9/3 at 9 pm and Sunday 9/4 at 7 pm
