Working by Candlelight
On Friday, February, 24th, i-Italy’s team was excited to participate in the thirteenth edition M’illumino di Meno (Lighting Ourselves Less). This thought-provoking initiative promotes both energy conservation and concern for our planet. i-Italy turned off its office lights and worked by candlelight for one hour. This annual initiative is organized by Caterpillar, an Italian radio program produced and transmitted by Rai Radio 2.
i-Italy’s editorial staff on Central Park West worked by candlelight from 6pm to 8pm. This unusual work environment was a symbolic show of solidarity for an extremely important cause. This year represented the thirteenth edition of M’illumino di Meno; the initiative’s goal is to encourage people to turn off the lights in homes, offices, and institutions. Refraining from the use of other energy-consuming devices is also encouraged.
Michele Casadei Massari, owner/Executive Chef of Piccolo Cafe and friend of the i-Italy team, stopped by la Casa di i-Italy to say hello in the dark and to show his support of the initiative.
Did you switch off your lights–even if only for a minute? Did you ride your bike instead of driving your car?

Growing the solidarity between Europe and America is important, especially for a cause like conserving energy and protecting the planet.
We also made a quick video by candlelight. Enjoy!
