Italian Welfare League To Host Fundraiser for Italian-American Children with Disabilities
Celebrating 99 years of helping to improve the lives of Italian-Americans in need, the Italian Welfare League will host its annual Autumn in New York Luncheon next month. The event is the League’s major fundraiser and helps the organization accomplish its mission of providing assistance to children who suffer from medical illness or emotional trauma.
The Luncheon will feature a silent auction, with items from world-renowned Italian fashion, jewelry and leather designers to prestigious wines, premium pastas and olive oil companies. The auction will be followed by lunch, presentations to the honorees and speeches by recipients’ families.
The Italian Welfare League will honor Rosanna Scotto, Co-Host of Good Day New York, Fox 5 NY WNYNW and Vincent Lumia, Managing Director and Head of Field Management at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, for their commitment to serving those less fortunate. The Consul General of Italy, Minister Plenipotentiary Francesco Genuardi, is the Honorary Chairman of the Luncheon.
Proceeds from the Luncheon benefit the Italian Welfare League’s “I Nostri Bambini” program. The program provides assistance to children of Italian-American descent who have serious health conditions, disabilities or have suffered an emotional trauma.
The League has donated more than $2 million to nearly 2,000 children.
